Full of tasty and delicious spoilers. If you haven’t seen this episode yet, stay away!
This week’s episode was a very moody one, in which it seemed at first that not much was going on in terms of plot. But then, lo and behold!, it turned out that plenty of shit had indeed been percolating! Excellent!
Here are some of my favorite moody moments:

Helo and Fake Athena have a moment in the locker room while Real Athena lies incapacitated in some closet.
I have a few questions:
Is Starbuck’s Imagination Dad a Cylon? Possibly a #7? Or an Earth Cylon? Or none of the above?
And, more importantly, how did she play one hand’s worth of melody and two hands’ worth of harmony with ONLY TWO HANDS?
What does Crazy Cavil want with the Cylon Baby?
And, even more importanly, where is that beautiful Imagination House and can I have it? For real?
starbuck’s dad is daniel! i’m sure of it! which makes starbuck the original hera? my head hurts.
Guys and Dolls…I been tryin’ and tryin’ to ‘splain this to y’all. This episode should have made it clear!
STARBUCK is DANIEL. She is the 7. This episode just proved it. The whole thing about the piano in the bar and Starbuck working out her daddy issues was a Cylon memory construction. This was reinforced by the Boomer/Tyrol memory construction and sharing storyline with the imaginary house and kid and stuff. Starbuck remembers playing “the song” when she was little. Which means she remembers it from Earth, which means she is the missing 7. The hybrid was right in a way.
I still believe that there was some sort of time travel sort of thing happening when Starbuck went through the eye, and that her arrival in the Viper actually caused the decimation of Earth. Therefore she is the harbinger of doom, angel of death, all those (not)good things.
So, anyway…I think dear old Chief Tyrol is going to be totally broken now. Thanks a lot Boomer, you cunt!
I’ll say it up front: I’m pretty opposed to the idea of Starbuck turning out to be a cylon — mainly because they’ve toyed around with that idea forever and if they actually do it it will be too expected. They don’t usually do the obvious thing, right? Anyway, if they make her a cylon I will throw something at the TV.
But that’s a good theory, so let’s say she is one: she can either be having unexpected revelations from her memory a la the 5 Earth cylons, OR she can be the #7, but not both. The Earth cylons didn’t have numbers, and a numbered Cylon never would have lived on earth. So it can’t be both. But…it could definitely be either one or the other, in which case shoe throwing will ensue!
But here’s my take on Piano Lessons With Imagination Dad: I saw the scenes with them together (after they revealed that he wasn’t really there) as a device similar to those scenes when Baltar saw Imagination Six or when Caprica (?) Six saw Imagination Baltar when she came out of the tub that time (which is why I call him Imagination Dad). For her, their interaction seems completely real, but he’s “not really there” in the sense that no one else can see him. So I didn’t see it as being the same phenomenon that happened when the Earth cylons suddenly regained some memories of Earth nor as the same phenomenon that happened when Boomer transferred her pictures of the Imagination House to Tyrol’s mind.
All in all, I’m looking at the dad as parallel to Imagination Six here, which is what gave me the idea that he’s possibly the one who’s a cylon. Also, this gives us a nice parallel between Starbuck and Hera (who also “played” the song in a way) and it jibes with the idea that this has happened before and will happen again, an idea they seem intent on pressing this season.
Anyway! That’s my “theory” for the moment.
Frakking hell that was a good app. Must continue to process prior to posting ideas.
