New Design and Other Business

Well, well, well. I have changed things up around here! If you are reading from a feed reader, click on through and check out the new design, would you? Could you let me know if anything looks wrong or acts glitchy? I did a little amateur tweaking of the old CSS and I don’t think I frakked anything up, but I’m not sure.

I have really enjoyed the new large size of photos now being used on flickr, and I wanted to be able to incorporate some larger photos here, too. Since I’ve been happily trucking along with Project 365, taking at least one a day, I have been using photographs in my posts a lot more than I used to. I figured a cleaner design with a wider content column would let me show them off. The sidebar also now shows larger thumbnails, with the latest daily photo from Project 365 up top and a random selections of favorites below. Let me know if those are cut off on the right side — I had to mess with the sidebar dimensions a bit.

In other blog news, I have updated my list of blogs in the Links section and added a ton of new ones. Please check them out! I feel like I have found a lot of great people with interesting sites out there and I recommend you add any and all to your daily reads. There’s a mix of personal blogs, healthy living blogs, and serious athlete blogs. All of which are good. I keep remembering ones I need to add, too, so please let me know if I have missed anyone — have I missed you?

Finally, I have a new post up at Sports & Wine, where I go on a bit about how I am not counting calories any more. When I was losing weight, I counted calories religiously. Every single day from June 8, 2009 through October 3, 2010. So, going through my day without recording my food feels a little strange, to say the least. At any rate, if you’re interested in that side of my life, head on over.

Happy National Coming Out Day to all and to all a good night!

  1. The new design is excellent! Very clean and I also love the big photos on Flickr. I’ve been making mine extra big too, unless it’s a self-portrait. Then I just feel weird blowing up photos of myself. Good thing I mostly photograph food and my dogs!

I’m impressed with your 365 progress. Once I did a daily photo for a month and it was a struggle!

  2. It looks great! No glitches over here. I liked the old design too, but the makeover is very nice. I can’t believe you did it yourself! It’s impressive. I remain stuck in the Stone Age with Blogger 🙂
